That's who I Am...

Hello, my name is Vidal Cortez-Vargas. I was born and raised in Salinas, CA. At an early age, I admired fashion for many reasons: quality, feel, look, freedom but, most importantly, the way it transformed the individual person into something for the day.

There were iconic people that I admired as I was growing up such as; Selena, Gloria Trevi, Valentino and Betsey Johnson. These iconic musicians and designers impacted my life and it wasn’t until my early 20’s in which I was battling with my soul to find out who I was. Fashion was a safe place and I couldn’t find a way in which, I could transmit that to other people without judgement.

When I obtained my first retail job, I was able to experiment and learn more about the garments. It was there, when I was set FREE! The AHA moment came and I was able to identify myself as a man who has a passion for fashion.

I want everyone to know that no matter who you are, you are special. The merchandise that you wear, are a piece of who you are. Don’t let adversity, critics or any judgment take anything from you. Fashion, doesn’t have a race, color or gender. In fact, it makes up part of who you are. I want to break barriers and lift up the fashion movement and especially in the men’s industry. Change is for everyone and self-expression as well.
